The appointee should:


NQF 4 (National Senior Certificate or Grade 12 or Adult Senior Certificate) with Science, Maths and English literacy.
Be declared medically fit for the position and environment, as determined by a risk based medical examination at the relevant Sibanye Stillwater Occupational Health Centre

Advantageous requirements:


NQF 5 (Higher Certificate) qualification in Metallurgical / Chemical Engineering will be advantageous.

Diploma with emphasis on Instrumentation or Process Control will be advantageous.

At least 2 years supervisory experience within a smelting or refinery environment, with the operation of SCADA systems as advantageous.



Key responsibilities:



Compliance to SHEQ standards, regulations and practices.
Adhere to PPE requirements.
Conduct safe behavioural observations.
Attending and leading safety meetings.
Participate in SHEQ campaigns.

Operational Control

Receive operational hand-over from previous shift.

Analyse information from hand-over report.

Communication of operational functions to operational staff on a shift basis.

Ongoingly liaise with operational staff to determine the status of operation.

Perform hand-over to the next shift.

Data & Information

Receival of data and information from operational teams.
Compare data and information for consistency.
Capturing of data and information on an information system.
Ongoing maintenance of database.
Compilation of production sheets for communication.

Stakeholder Liaising

Constantly liaise with operational teams during the shift.
Advise operational teams on functions and assignments.
Communicate unsafe working conditions and safety incidents.
Liaise with maintenance crews for installations, repairs and breakdowns.
